Since the introduction of nickel titanium (NiTi) to field endodontics, it paved way for fast and reliable root canal instrumentation. Rotary instruments are solely manufactured from NiTi alloy, due its favorable mechanical physical properties such as flexibility cutting efficiency. The main problem with rotary is their high fatigue susceptibility, unexpected incident instrument separation inside canal, complicating case even further might doom tooth extraction fractured fragment was unretrievable presence peri-apical pathology. Many attempts were made enhance alloy through modification manufacturing process or different heat treatment adding alloying elements it. However, there has never been an attempt replace whole alloy. Cobalt Nickel Aluminum (Co-Ni-Al) a ferromagnetic shape memory (FMSM) possessing making good candidate in instruments. With advantage being ability be retrieved magnetic pulses after separated.
